How is the Covid-19 PCR test performed?
This type of test is performed by swabs in two samples:
- A nasopharyngeal swab: The cotton swab is inserted through the nose and down the throat.
- An oropharyngeal sample: The swab is put directly into the throat through the mouth.
If you want to carry out the Covid tests for companies by means of a PCR, you should know that it is the diagnostic test with the highest sensitivity to detect the virus at the moment, its maximum sensitivity being on the fourth or fifth day of infection. This test does not detect antibodies (in case the virus has already passed), but rather detects whether the patient is infected at that time or not.
We also have other COVID tests such as PCR, antigen test, qualitative and quantitative serological test to assess antibodies against covid-19.
